or
successful completion of the two-year technical vocational school as a social assistant with an emphasis on home and family care
or
completion of secondary school and at least five years of relevant work experience
or
completion of technical vocational school in Care for the Elderly or Medicinal-Educational Assistance and at least 18 months of relevant work experience
and
a training agreement for practical training in a suitable care facility for the elderly.

The Bildungswerk Niedersächsischer Volkshochschulen GmbH (BNVHS) is an educational facility which focuses on professional training for both young people and adults. The course work is oriented to regional conditions and requirements, to technological developments, and to the current approaches to vocational training. Qualified pedagogues, psychologists, teachers and instructors support, advise, train, and qualify up to 350 participants, trainees and participating employees in our workshops and training centres.

In co-operation with the Administrative District of and City of Stade, the German Federal Labour Office, the Federal State of Lower Saxony, the European Social Fund as well as Companies from the Stade region, we carry out measures and projects in the Stade further education centre in the following areas:

In their professional training and retraining, our graduates obtain approved certificates after an examination at the IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce), Chamber of Crafts or the Chamber of Agriculture. Technical school graduates receive a state-approved examination certificate. Other education measures end with the issue of certificates which include information on the content and scope of the courses as well as a meaningful evaluation of performance.

Arbeit und Leben Niedersachsen (Life and Work, Lower Saxony) is an educational facility of the Federation of German Trade Unions and adult education centres.. Its main task is political and professional employee training. Arbeit und Leben Niedersachsen has approximately 250 employees in Lower Saxony.
