Protected landscape features (§ 28 of the environmental protection law of Lower Saxony) include trees, hedges, waterways, and other landscape features.
They can be protected individually or generally in a certain area, if they
- provide organization for or vivify the local landscape,
- contribute to the effectiveness of the ecosystem or
- improve the local climate or protect from damaging effects.
In connection with the developed districts, the city can protected these features of the landscape via an ordinance.
The ordinance specifies what is individually protected and what is prohibited.
You can receive information on the individual directives from the planning office of the City of Stade (phone: 04141-401-335 / 401-327).
The main entry ways to the protected landscape area are clearly marked with a sign bearing a triangle with green edges, which can be found nation-wide. Either a white-tailed eagle or a sitting owl is depicted on the white background, and the inscription reads "Geschützter Landschaftsbestandteil". The white-tailed eagle version can be seen within the urban area.
Stade's urban area includes three "protected landscape components".
Further information can be found under the respective "protected landscape features".
